OS Bedale Wax Jacket Black
The Barbour OS Bedale Wax Jacket is a roomier take on one of Barbour’s defining outerwear styles. Designed in 1980 by Dame Margaret Barbour with equestrian use in mind, the Bedale introduced a shorter length, relaxed fit and rear vents that made it practical both in and out of the saddle.
This black version is made from mediumweight 6oz waxed cotton, providing dependable protection from wind and light rain while remaining versatile across the seasons. The waxed finish develops character with wear and can be maintained through re-waxing, helping extend the life of the jacket for years to come.
The construction retains the Bedale’s signature functional details, including a brass two-way ring-pull zip, studded Stormfly front, two large bellows pockets and two moleskin-lined handwarmer pockets.
A traditional corduroy collar conceals a studded throat flap for additional protection when needed, while the internal nylon drip-strip helps guard against moisture.
The oversized fit provides plenty of room for knitwear and lighter layers without losing the characteristic Bedale silhouette. Compatible with optional zip-in thermal liners and hoods, the OS Bedale can also be adapted for colder and wetter conditions while retaining the practical, understated character that has made the Bedale a Barbour staple.
